奉天省造币厂是目前我国历史悠久的造币厂，主要生产流通硬币、金银纪念币等清于光绪二十二年根据盛京将军依克唐阿的奏请，批准设立并筹建奉天机器局以铸造机制银币，从德国进口锅炉和以蒸汽机为动力的铸币机器。光绪二十三年(1897年)奉天机器局建成。根据历史文献记载，当年该局就铸行了没有干支纪年的“奉天省造光绪元宝”，该币铸额小传世甚罕，不为广大钱币收藏者和研究者所熟悉。 由两广总督张之洞率先引进英国铸币机器铸造银元和铜元，之后各省纷纷仿效，共有十九个省局铸造。光绪年间铸造了一系列银币，但奉天省造光绪元宝由于不便于流通使用，故铸额极其稀少，更显珍贵。光绪二十八年(1902年)，奉天机器局的造币厂从机器局分离并更名为奉天银元局。光绪二十九年（1903年），奉天银元局铸造了以“两”为单位的“奉天省造癸卯光绪元宝库平银一两”和“奉天省造癸卯光绪元宝库平七钱二分”两种银币。著名的“奉天省造癸卯光绪元宝库平银一两”银币，俗称“奉天一两”就是在此年铸造。 因清代以来经历了多场战争，珍稀的光绪元宝损失严重，至今，数量已经极其有限。龙纹光绪元宝，这种元宝非常独特，它所代表的不仅仅是金钱，还有光绪年间的经济情况。为此，众多收藏家都纷涌而至，以期能够找出龙纹光绪元宝，以满足清代经济研究所需，是具有重要的文化意义和收藏价值的收藏佳品。   Fengtian Mint is a mint with a long history in China.
