辛亥革命以后，袁世凯就任“临时大总统”之职，后又成为正式大总统。当时，为了巩固国内政局稳定，发展民族经济，也为“制宪”和“称帝”作准备，于是发布《国币条例》，毅然决定在全国“统一币制”。在辛亥革命后，袁世凯为了解决军费和提高个人政治地位而发行的银元货币，因这些银元铸有他的侧身图像而得名。

民国元年(公元1912年)，意大利雕刻师乔治受聘于天津造币厂镌刻模具，并由天津造币厂铸造了袁世凯着军装高樱冠正面像中华民国共和纪念银币。

民国二年(公元1913年)十月十日，袁世凯正式就任大总统，同时发行此币。该币设计考究，铸工精良，传世稀少，较为珍贵，由于签字版未曾正式流通使用，所以存世不多,具有研究和收藏价值。

此枚签字版中华民国共和纪念币 包浆浓厚，品相精美，图案清晰可见，值得收藏。

In the first year of the Republic of China (AD 1912), Italian engraver George was hired to engrave molds at the Tianjin Mint, and the Tianjin Mint cast Yuan Shikai's military uniform with a high cherry crown and a commemorative silver coin of the Republic of China.   On October 10th in the second year of the Republic of China (1913 AD), Yuan Shikai formally became president and issued the coin at the same time. The coin is exquisite in design, excellent in casting, and rare and precious. Since the signature version has not been officially circulated, there are not many in existence, and it has research and collection value.   This signed version of the Republic of China commemorative coin is worthy of collection.
