Bronze mirror is an ancient utensil for face-to-face. It is a common thing in ancient daily necessities. After the appearance and popularity of glass mirrors, bronze mirrors withdrew from the stage of history. There are various types of decorative patterns on the bronze mirror, which are constantly changing with the changes of the time background and customs, which is an important basis for studying ancient art. Chinese bronze mirrors have different origins and legends. The earliest unearthed bronze mirrors were unearthed from the Qijia Cultural Tombs, dating back to around 2000 BC. Various bronze mirrors have been unearthed in the tombs of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties, the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the Han and Tang Dynasties, and the Ming and Qing Dynasties. These objects are the most powerful witness to the history of bronze mirrors in China. The Han Dynasty was the peak period for the development of bronze mirrors, with exquisite craftsmanship and rich connotations. According to the characteristics of the ornamentation, scholars divided the Han Dynasty bronze mirrors into fifteen types, including beast mirrors, dragon-tiger mirrors, and portrait mirrors.   This collection of Han dynasty beast-shaped bronze mirrors are round (or disc-shaped) with a diameter of 7 cm. The front surface is rusted, and the middle of the back is a milk nail-shaped (or hemispherical) button with holes (can be strapped for easy holding or tied on the stage), and a round button seat. The inner area is surrounded by a three-relief pattern of three beasts with a button as the center, and a circle of fangs. The edges are slightly higher, and the overall texture is rich in layers and full of tension. Although this bronze mirror is partially rusted and worn, its motif of the three beasts still visible.
