铜版画，起源于欧洲，至今已有六百余年历史。也称“蚀刻版画”、“铜刻版画”、“铜蚀版画”、“腐蚀版画”，版画的一种。指在金属版上用腐蚀液腐蚀或直接用针或刀刻制而成的一种版画。属于凹版。因较常用的金属版是铜版，故称。铜版画艺术典雅、庄重，在国际上一直被认为是一种名贵的艺术画种。铜版画从十五世纪发明雕版以来，经过两个世纪的发展，在欧洲各国都已经形成一个非常繁荣的复制版画市场。历代大师都曾热衷于铜版画的艺术创作。法国是当时欧洲复制版画的中心，著名的雕版师都云集巴黎。从德国的丢勒、荷兰的伦勃朗，西班牙的戈雅，法国印象派的马奈、莫奈、西斯兰、德加等直至现代的毕加索、马蒂斯诸大师都留下了十分精美的铜版画作品。 

 

19世纪的绘画在法国启蒙主义思想的引导下,经历了新古典主义,浪漫主义,现实主义,印象主义等时期.在这样不断变革的艺术发展进程中铜版画也异常的活跃,以巴比松为中心的现实主义画家大多有蚀刻铜版画作品问世.而以色彩著称的印象派画家也热衷于铜版画的创作,使铜版画的蚀刻技法更加成熟和完美,被美术史学家认为是蚀刻版画的黄金时期.铜版画也完全彻底地摆脱了复制的功能,成为画家抒发情感的一种艺术手段.同时这一时期还开展过复兴铜版画运动,这场旨在使观众从本质上了解版画原作与复制印刷的差异,提高版画艺术地位的运动由此展开。铜版画也完全彻底地摆脱了复制的功能,成为画家抒发情感的一种艺术手段.同时这一时期还开展过复兴铜版画运动,这场旨在使观众从本质上了解版画原作与复制印刷的差异,提高版画艺术地位的运动由此展开。

 

此次展览我们很高兴给大家展示由欧洲著名版画家制作的著名油画家的版画作品29幅，时经一个多世纪，我们不但能领略到欧洲版画的精美和高雅，还可以回顾那时以及更早时期各个流派精美的绘画作品。

 

Originated in Europe , copper etching has more than six hundred years of history, also known as "etching prints", "copper engraving", "copper or "etching".  It belongs to gravure , is a kind of printmaking which made on the metal plate with an etch solution or direct engraving with a needle or knife. Usually, copper plate was chosen as metal plate to produce. With elegant, dignified art value , Copper etching has been considered as a very  precious painting type internationally. 

 After two centuries of development, a very prosperous printmaking market has been formed since the invention of engraving. The masters of the past dynasties have been keen on the creation of the art of copper etching. France has been the center of market of Europe's copy prints at that time, famous engraving masters also gathered in Paris.
Many masters have left a lot of delicate etching works there such as Durer of German, Rembrandt of Dutch, Goya of Spanish, French Impressionists: Manet, Monet, Xisilan, Degas, modern artist: Picasso and Matisse.

 

Under the guidance of French Enlightenment thought, 19th century painting experienced a neo-classical, romanticism, realism, impressionism and other period. In this ever-changing process of art development, copper etching also involved extremely active. Many painters based on Barbizon published their etching works during this period. Some impressionists famous for colour are also keen on the creation of etchings, this proved copper etching techniques which became more and more mature and perfect, for this, art historians believe it was the golden age of the etching .Copper etchings also developed as an art means to express artist's feeling getting rid of the copy fuction of it. At the same time, this period is also carried out the revival of copper etching  movement which aims to make the audience understand the difference between the original and copy of the original print, and to improve  the status of the printmaking art.

 

At this exhibition, we are very glad to display the famous oil painter's 27 printmaking works from famous European printmakers.  After more than a century, we can not only appreciate the exquisite and elegant prints in Europe, but also survey the various genres of fine paintings from diffrent art schools at both that time and an earlier time period .
