这是一个关于社会变迁的展览。在历史长河中城市的发展与兴衰烙印在个体生命中的遗存、人类群体意识变化在岁月深埋下的吊诡被再次提及、多元文化的接触和传播在作品中呈现出陌生的形态。对人类历史与文明认知系统的重新审视是个宏大的主题,然而对于具体而微的个体而言,现实切肤的影响却如氧气一般翻滚着。艺术家们为我们带来了一个有着错综多样的视觉聚合体,通过三位艺术家一个月的驻留创作,我们得以从作品的呼吸声中听见世界的低语。
刘颢在驻留期间对长沙“花炮大楼”社区做了深度研究,这栋长沙老建筑历经了系列的经济变革和公司体制改革,大楼的建造者、拥有者、使用者们成为附着在老楼历史中的无名者,刘颢的系列作品由此层叠推进。Rafael带来了一组影像三部曲,有关于离婚的寓言,也有关于韩国人逃往北朝鲜却被射杀的事件,而其中在驻留期间完成的部分是关于朝鲜历史上末代女王明成皇后的视频,三组影像以极致的视觉语言象征隐喻的方式,探讨着集体记忆与历史的复杂性。Simon Pericich在长沙捡拾了许多废弃物,它们已被时间遗弃,而通过对材料的重构与再制造,他最终以一种弗兰肯斯坦式的哥特风格实现着对历史的重建。
历史在轮回迭代中试错,修正,前行。
但历史的朝向并没有标准答案,命运的支配者们不可知,不可论,不可理解。
在这个世界降生而后再不回头,路过中国湖南或者生活在此,来到这个展览现场虚掷光阴,这一切,你从未认真预习过,也不会再无误的复习。

This is an exhibition about social change. During the long course of history, a city has its ups and downs that changes the life of individual. People always adjust their consciousness accordingly. The hidden history buried by time is mentioned again. The contact and communication of various cultures manifest themselves in newfangled forms in artworks. A re-examination and re-evaluation of human history and civilization is too grand as a theme. Yet for a specific individual, the influence and impact of reality is surrounding us like oxygen. The artists bring us a diverse visual aggregate. Through the one-month artist's residence project, visitors are able to hear the whispers of reality from the breathing of their artworks.
During his stay in Changsha, Liu Hao had an in-depth study of the Changsha ‘Fireworks Building’ community. This old building of Changsha has undergone a series of economic reforms and corporate system reforms. The builders, owners and users of this building have been neglected and attached to the old building. Liu Hao’s artwork series unfold themselves based upon this hidden stories. Rafael brings us a trilogy of video which is an allegory about divorce, and also about an incident in which Koreans unsuccessfully fled to North Korea. In Changsha residence time, he completed the video part which is about Empress Myung-Sung, the last empress of North Korea. Three sets of videos explore the complexities of collective memory and history in visual metaphor language. Simon Pericich picked up a lot of garbage in Changsha, which have been abandoned by time. By reconstruction and remaking of these material, he realized the reconstruction of history in a somewhat Frankenstein Gothic style.
History rectifies in trials and errors and proceeds in the iteration of reincarnation.
Yet there is no standard answer to the direction of history. The dominators of fate are unknowable, beyond words and incomprehensible.
After the birth of this world, there is no looking back. Passing through Hunan province or living here, coming to the site of this exhibition to kill time, all of which you have never carefully prepared, nor will you review without mistakes.

SIMON PERICICH(AUS)
Simon Pericich 出生于澳大利亚西部,现生活工作于墨尔本。曾于柏斯科延大学学习,作为最年轻的获奖者之一获得了Samstag奖学金($80,000AU),并前往伦敦斯莱德艺术学院学习并获得硕士学位,此后于墨尔本维多利亚艺术学院完成另一个硕士学位。过去7年间,他在墨尔本皇家理工大学First Site画廊任职馆长。

Simon Pericich from Melbourne, Australia. He was born in rural Western Australia and studied Art in Perth at Curtin University. He was one of the youngest people to get a Samstag Scholarship ($80,000AU) and with these funds studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London. He completed another Masters Degree at the Victoria College of the Art, Melbourne. For the past 7 years he has been the curator of a gallery called First Site at RMIT University, Melbourne.
Primarily a Sculptor, his hysterical, dark brand of make shift art production is concerned with the terrifying awareness that humanity and its current actions are, in essence, irrationally selfish and detrimental. Traversing large-scale installation, video and image his nihilistic dystopias act like an evolving epitaph and harbinger for a future that seems out of the control of its population. Sometimes stemming from the autobiographical, sometimes detached commentary on consumer trends, Pericichʼsprolific practice forms transitory bonds between audience members and acts as an invitation or platform to participate. His methodology has been cited as Relational Aesthetics for perverts and his work has a particular knack of salvaging commonplace materials or ideas to create absurd yet poetically obsessive shrines that examine yet defy commodification. His recognizably adhoc and sinister style is always ready to inhabit new territories and tries to speak of that big heavy junk, you know, like being alive.

刘颢于2012年毕业于广州美术学院版画系,2016年进入巴黎国立高等美术学院学习,在Emmaunuel Saulnier, Anne Véronique Janssens 工作室工作,主要研究观念艺术方向。
刘颢的作品更多的是连接与扩展物体与社会之间的关系,他偏向于用一种去情境化的方式来展示他的作品,以一种无名者的身份来叙述,这些也是他作品所研究的主题:无身份政治。在作品中,他更倾向于观念的去个人化语境,将图像或者装置以一种高度抽象化的方式从其原有的事件中抽离出来,这些作品本身,可能是街角的 ATM 取款机上的一部分零件,也可能是印在墙上的标语,或者是在视频中出现的广告牌和日常生活中出现的一些毫不新奇,顺理成章,构成城市生活秩序的“基础零件”,这些生活中极其普遍的片段,经由组合,拼接和非叙事的编写手段所呈现出来的是一系列“降质”的社会学。他认为,生活的平淡构成了一个经由无数无名者所组建的整体世界观,在这之下,每个人的身份和作品并不那么重要,那些激烈的事件在这个背景下也显得似乎没有那么多举足轻重的意义,一件重要事件和一件平常小事同等重要。这些最终构成了刘颢想表达的观念:一个无名者的历史已经展开。

Liu Hao is graduated from the department of prints of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2012, and studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure Des Beaux-arts de Paris in 2016. He works in the studio of Emmaunuel Saulnier and Anne Veronique Janssens, mainly studying the direction of conceptual art.
Liu Hao's works are more about the relationship between connecting and expanding objects and society. He prefers to present his works in a de-contextualized way and narrate them in the identity of an unknown person, which is also the theme of his works: no identity politics. In his works, his ideas are more likely to go to personal context, the image or device in the form of a highly abstract from its original event, the work itself, may be part of the corner on the ATM parts, can also be printed on the signs on the wall, or in the video billboards and in the daily life of some novel, logical, constitute the "fundamental parts" of city life order, very common fragment in the life, through a combination of stitching and the narrative writing method is presented by a series of "drop quality" of sociology. Constitute a life of light, he thought, through countless nameless formed by the whole world view, under this, each person's identity and work is not so important, the intense event in this context is also seem less important, the significance of an important event and an ordinary things are equally important. These eventually formed the idea that liu hao wanted to express: the history of an unknown person had unfolded.

A+ Artist In Residence International Exchange Program sponsored by Advance Art Museum and 58 Town, aimed at through the linkage of art and the new economy, to establish the national and regional artists’ visits and academic exchanges, to further activate the regional contemporary art ecology. It encourages artists or art groups with independent artistic thinking and break through practice to conduct multiple collision of cultural blending in cities, explore and share artistic practices that meet the spirit of the times. During the residence, participants will have the opportunity to participate in city visits, studio opening presentations, academic discussions, salon lectures or related education communication activities, as well as the final exhibition display section. It bring participants with diverse and in-depth creative space and possibility.
