前行展讯 | A 国际艺术家驻留项目作品展Vol.3-

通过回收城市中被丢弃的外卖盒、遗弃的电子产品和废弃的建筑材料，Justin(贾斯汀)根据展馆结构建造了墙面雕塑以及一个具象化的“洞穴”。《晶体墙》在展厅攀爬着，按晶体生长和细胞分裂扩散的方式被创造出来，它克隆并融合了工业造物与自然生态；而作品《cave》以重新诠释并再造质疑的方式一键GHOST了柏拉图著名的洞穴隐喻。艺术家由此将白盒子空间转变为一个极限空间，这里既具有现实性又具有空想性，既耽于反思又富于乐观，既反乌托邦又极其的乌托邦化。

美术馆所在的“空间”与“时间”被戚佳佳作为材料，她将建筑空间已删除覆盖掉的历史过往再次重新导入，《25863》努力用数据伪精确地重现着展馆十年前的现场，彼时这里仍作为民宅建筑日用；《可见的距离》则通过把空间装配成为多维反馈系统，《所言即所见》尝试修复艺术的异质性钥匙，以此解放观看者的庸常枷锁。于是展场已扭曲成一座时空陷阱，而观者自己则成了那些只有一条命的游戏玩家，仍然固执地把空间想象成一个连续的整体。

代化在幽默的同时毫不掩饰作品涉猎面的现实沉浸，从《Monkey King》到《JBBJ》而后是本次驻留期间的《dog year. dog days. dog dream》，他用像素逐帧绘制gif动画的缘由之一是作品可以顺畅的通过绝大多数数字媒介展示并传播。这种广泛的包容度成为他作品母题多元化的要素，与之相对的是他面对历史与社会现实时容错率极低，并藉由他理念硬核的创作，不断演进自身的语法。

一个GHOST，一个GHOST在宇宙游荡，GHOST是昨日对今日的不离不弃，是永无止尽的追逐，是逐日的夸父尚未死于黎明，再说我们还有一键GHOST，集成了克隆、移动、导入、重装、删除。夸父是英雄还是蠢货并不重要，客观的世界只有一个，而描述这个世界的棱面却有无数个。

By recycling discarded takeaway boxes, abandoned electronic products and building materials of the city, artist Justin has made wall sculptures and a figurative “cave” based on the structure of the exhibiting spaces. The “Crystal Wall” sprawls on the exhibiting wall and is created by form of crystal growth and cell division/diffusion. It get cloned and has integrated industrial creation and natural ecology. The work “Cave” has one-key ghosted Plato’s famous cave metaphor by ways of re-interpretation and re-thinking. The artist thus transforms the white box into a limitless space, which is both realistic and imaginative, reflective and optimistic, dystopian and utopian at the same time.

The “space” and “time” of the art museum are utilized by the artist Qi Jiajia as art materials. She has brought the history of the building space back into view which has been removed and covered. The work “25863” strives to reconstruct the site of the exhibition space in pseudo-precise data, which was used as residential buildings for daily use at that time. “Visible Distance” assembles the space into a multi-dimensional feedback system. “You See what You Say” is trying to be a key for the heterogeneity of art, by which the audiences liberate the shackles of mediocrity. The exhibition space has thus been distorted into a time-space trap, and viewers have become the game players with only one life, who would consistently imagine the space as a continuous whole.

While being humorous, artist Dai Hua does not hide the realistic side of his works. From “Monkey King”to “JBBJ”and then “Dog Year, Dog Day and Dog Dream”during this residency project, he draws GIF animation frame by frame, which allows his works to be displayed and spread smoothly via most digital media. This broad degree of inclusiveness has become a factor which has facilitated the diversification of his work motifs. In contrast, his tolerance to history and social reality mistakes is extremely low, and his grammar is constantly evolving through the creation of his concept.

A GHOST, a GHOST is wandering in the universe. The GHOST is yesterday's unrelenting pursuit of today, an endless pursuit, and the sun-chasing Kua Fu who has not died before dawn. In addition, we are equipped with one key ghost, which integrated the function of clone, mobile, Import, reload, delete into one. It matters not whether Kua Fu is painted as a hero or an idiot. There is only one objective world, yet there countless facets to reflect it.

Justin Tyler Tate (CA) 

Justin(贾斯汀)出生于加拿大，在美国长大，现在属于国际型艺术家。于加拿大NSCAD大学和赫尔辛基美术学院(芬兰)完成美术学士学位与硕士学位。作品擅长结合了雕塑、装置艺术、数位媒体、表演以及参与式艺术，同时主要关注于空间的功能、交互性和人与环境的关系。结合传统的制作方法，以手作进行研究、实验以及教学的探索，Justin(贾斯汀)能够改变空间的感知，创造出独特的互动体验。Justin(贾斯汀)也有举办无数工作坊的经验，对于材料、工具和现场环境特异性的方式进行创造交流。

Justin(贾斯汀)现任爱沙尼亚注册非盈利组织Error的董事会成员。 Error通过重新设计赋予废弃空间新的文化样貌和社会交流场域。由于长年在欧洲工作，Justin(贾斯汀)近年为拓展对亚洲文化的喜爱，工作重心逐渐转为以亚洲专案较多，目前已赴台湾、日本及韩国完成创作。

Justin Tyler Tate was born in Canada, grew up in the United States and now works internationally. Receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts from NSCAD University and a Master of Fine Arts from Helsinki Academy of Fine Arts his work combines elements of sculpture, installation, media, performance as well as social art, while being primarily concerned with ideas of space, function, interactivity and environment. In combining traditional methods of making, do-it-yourself approaches, research, experimentation as well as explorations of pedagogy, Tate is able to alter how space is perceived, interpreted and experienced. 

Tate is on the board of directors of Error, a registered non profit organization in Estonia. Error dedicates disused spaces for cultural and social exchange through the design and construction of site specific materials. Tate teaches workshops on the methodology of available materials, tools and site specificity.

戚佳佳 Jiajia Qi (CHN)

戚佳佳，生于中国浙江， 目前生活在荷兰海牙。2018年， 毕业于荷兰皇家艺术学院，交互设计专业。她的大部分作品以现象学和建筑空间哲学为基础，侧重于研究分析如何使建筑空间变成⼀个工具，去打破人对自己身体使用的习惯性，从而建立一个新的视角。戚佳佳作品一般用影片，装置和雕塑等方式来呈现。

Jiajia Qi, she was born in Zhejiang, China and is currently living in The Hague, The Netherlands. In 2018, she graduated from Interactive Media Design at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, The Netherlands. Most of her artworks is based on phenomenology philosophy theory. Jiajia Qi is focused on research and experiences on how to use the architectural space as a tool, to break people body habits , leading to an ultimate change of perspective. Jiajia Qi uses multi media (video/audio), installation and sculpture as medium for her work.

代化 Dai Hua (CHN)

代化，生于北京，从事数字多媒体艺术创作，涉及领域：数字艺术，动画视频，装置等。现工作生活于北京。1999年构建个人艺术网站-指指堂。作品涉及政治、历史、社会新闻、设计和流行文化，表现形式上各种媒介材质都在尝试，特别是电子媒介计算机图形方面，包括利用互联网媒体进行传播。艺术家希望自己的作品可以顺畅的融入目前零乱纷繁的社会生活。

Dai Hua born in August 1976 in Beijing, he is engaged in digital multimedia art creation, involving fields: digital art, animation video, installation, etc. He lives and works in Beijing. In 1999, the website of personal art was established, namely, http://www.dhok.net. The work involves politics, history, social news, design and popular culture, and all kinds of media materials are trying in the form of expression, especially in the aspect of electronic media computer graphics, including the use of Internet media for communication. Artists hope their works can be smoothly integrated into the current messy social life.

A+ 国际艺术家驻留项目由前行美术馆与58小镇共同发起，旨在以艺术与新经济的联动，建立国家及地区间艺术家的互访与学术交流，进一步激活地域当代艺术生态。鼓励具有独立艺术思考与突破性实践的艺术家或艺术小组深入城市进行文化交融的多元碰撞，探索并分享符合时代精神的艺术实践。驻留期间，参加者将有机会参与城市走访、工作室开放展示、学术讨论、沙龙讲座或相关教育交流活动，以及最终的展览展示部分。为参与者带来多元、深度的创作空间与可能性。

A+ Artist In Residence International Exchange Program  sponsored by Advance Art Museum and 58 Town, aimed at through the linkage of art and the new economy, to establish the national and regional artists’ visits and academic exchanges, to further activate the regional contemporary art ecology. It encourages artists or art groups with independent artistic thinking and break through practice to conduct multiple collision of cultural blending in cities, explore and share artistic practices that meet the spirit of the times. During the residence, participants will have the opportunity to participate in city visits, studio opening presentations, academic discussions, salon lectures or related education communication activities, as well as the final exhibition display section. It bring participants with diverse and in-depth creative space and possibility.

前行美术馆坐落于湖南长沙核心城区千年古街太平老街的太平里，是一座服务于公众，独立的公益性艺术机构，由前行集团董事长吴阔先生创建，致力于发掘和培养具有独立艺术思考与突破性实践的青年艺术家，鼓舞与启蒙大众对艺术的认知。系统的梳理地域当代艺术生态系统，激活本土艺术生态并加强国际间的文化互动与学术交流。
