“Svankmajer ...Volumes are growing, passing thoughts are living in hands like wings – this will be the art of sculpture. So, I was born in 1987, in Tavolzhanka, Ulyanovsk Oblast. Don`t remember, from what age I started to sculpt everything that I saw. My parents brought me to art school in the nearby village, after which I have graduated from art college in Penza. In 2009 I went to Moscow Surikov Art University, where Alexander Rukavischnikov was my teacher. In 3 class I got injured my head at skating ring – have survived and continued sculpting the swimming horses, the air. Form is standing still, but content is requiring outwards. This touch of dead has born desire of life, and my style grows from this all active condition».

In such kind was Sasha answer on my request to tell something about himself during my first visit of his workshop. After short tea drinking he excused and continued working at some unfinished sculpture. “The best way to talking is making something by hands at same time”, he said.

Sasha Sviyazov is an author of numerous indoor and monumental works. In which he continues traditions of Russian and soviet academic art, and, at the same time, inspired by different modernist movements, such as impressionism, expressionism, surrealism.

Sacha was awarded a silver medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. He received it for Arkardy Plastov monument, which located now in homeland of this famous russian artist - Prislonikha, Ulyanovsk Oblast. Sacha also was participant of international plein-air in Florence, and different exhibitions.
