艺术简介
born in Leeuwarden (Netherlands) in 1958. Studied at the Academy of Arts and Industrial Design in Eindhoven. Self-taught in the art of bronze sculpture. In 1989, after a period as painter he concentrated completely on sculpting.
His inspiration lies in the world of mythology and the remains of old and lost cultures. Subjects come from the Celtic and Mediaeval Literature, such as the legend of King Arthur, the Holy Grail, Percival and Irish fairy-tales. The old cultures of Egypt and Africa are also nourishing sources of inspiration. The sculptures are very long and stretched out in their shapes .Often the figures have a modest attitude. The sculptures are modelled in wax and cast in bronze by the lost-wax-method (cire-perdue).
