"From the White, to the Black"

 

Galerie Koo will present a joint exhibition of works by Chinese artists Chen Xi and Kassia Ko. The process of painting start from a blank canvas/ paper, Chinese ink painting has built a world, a universe with black and white.

 

One of the oldest art form is turning to a new style and getting attraction all over the world. The artists express their point of view to the world with life experience, aesthetic, time and their works.

 

When viewing the works of Chen Xi, words like explosive, eruptive, natural, bursting and concentrated cross the observer’s mind. In Chen Xi's abstract works, the philosophy of the relationship between man and nature has shown on the paper; moving to Austria for decades, Chen uses a new way to press his view of scenery with

cross-culture aesthetics. Chen mainly works with mixed media on paper, often entirely in black, and only sometimes mixing in sepia or natural tones.

 

Hong Kong based artist, Kassia Ko made up her mind to be an artist 10 years ago. From a designer holdingmarker to an artist holding brush, Ko conveys her projection of tranquility and composure, stimulating the beholder’s imagination and emotions. After settled down in Park Island, Ma Wan for three years, and she felt

compelled to examine its internal form. Ko flourishes in reinterpreting traditional Chinese painting. Her serene painting series serves as an analogue time lapse, capturing the passage of time in a modern digital era through brush movements and color selection.
