Zhang Quan prefers a playful approach towards making artwork, his ambition is to create art that everyone could understand. His chooses to employ the most conventional language of sculpture because of its constancy, and that it maintains body temperature. The artist uses stainless steel here, through its surface reflection this medium simultaneously reveals and disguises itself. Civilisation and taste of our time invite the lustre and texture of stainless steel to become prominent and is extensively applied. Its general property as a metal substance, however, becomes disguised. This work emphasises efforts both artificial and by nature.
